Pani Puri Recipe /How to Make Pani Puri Water at Home
Introduction:
Pani Puri also known as Golgappa or Puchka is a popular street food in India, particularly in the northern and western regions. It consists of hollow, crispy puris filled with a mixture of spicy tangy and sweet flavored water tamarind chutney,chickpeas and potatoes. People of all ages love the popular snack known as pani puri because of the bursting of spices and light flavour. You will be able to recreate the genuine flavours of this well known street dish in the comfort of your own kitchan by folowing our pani puri recipe and making Pani Puri water at home this will be a fun and delicious culinary adventure.so lets not waste any time and get started.
Ingredients:
For the Puri:
• 1 cup semolina (sooji)
• 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• Water, as needed
• Oil, for frying
For the Pani:
• 1 cup mint leaves
• 1/2 cup cilantro leaves
• 1 green chili, chopped
• 1/2 inch ginger, grated
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 1 teaspoon chaat masala
• 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
• 1/2 teaspoon black salt
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
• 2 tablespoons tamarind pulp
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 4 cups water
• Ice cubes, as needed
For the Filling:
• 1 cup boiled chickpeas
• 1 cup boiled and diced potatoes
• 1/2 cup tamarind chutney
• 1/2 cup spicy green chutney
• Sev (crispy gram flour noodles), for garnish
Instructions:
1. Puri:-
• Blend semolina,all purpose flour, the baking soda and the salt in a bowl or mixing dish.
• Gradually add water and knead into a stiff dough.
• Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it be that way for 10 to 15 minute.
• After resting, knead the dough again and divide it into small balls.
• Roll out each ball into a thin circle, approximately 2-3 inches in diameter.
• Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
• Carefully slide the rolled out dough circles into the hot oil and fry until they puff up and turn golden brown.
• Remove the puris from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
2. Pani:
• Add Mint leaves,Cilantro leaves,Green chillies,Ginger,Onions,Chat masalla,Salt, Black pepper powder,Tamarind pulp and Lemon juice in the mixer.
• Add water and blend until smooth.
• Mix the blended mixture into a big bowl and add more water according to your need to adjust the consistency according to your preferenc.
• Add ice cubes to chill the pani. Stir well and set aside.
3. Filling:
• In a bowl, mix boiled chickpeas and diced potatoes.
• Add a pinch of salt and chaat masala. Toss to coat the chickpeas and potatoes with the spices.
4. Assembling Pani Puri:
• Make a small hole in the centre of each puri using your thumb or a spoon.
• Fill each puri with a small amount of the chickpea and potato mixture.
• Fill the Top with a little tamarind chutney and spicy green chutney.
• Dip the filled puri into the prepared pani (Water) and immediately
pop it into your mouth and enjoy the flavours.
